WEEK FIVE

THE OUTPOURING
OF ADORATION

Devotional Reading
There is no greater privilege than the believer’s access to God’s presence. It is the freedom to come before the throne of grace and to worship God directly that transforms us. The God who created everything, including us, chose us as His own, to be His children, to be His family. 1 Chronicles 29:11 NLT says it best: “Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O LORD, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things.” We adore you, Lord.

We adore you. That means that we recognize who He is, and with our whole heart, we bow our lives to His power, His will, and His awesome sovereignty. We may be able to come as children to our Daddy, but we never forget that our Father is a King – and one who deserves all of our adoration. Our love for our Father who sent His Son to save us, for Jesus who died to set us free, and for the Holy Spirit who continues this journey with us and gives us access to the presence of God – our love should be evident in our words, our actions and our outward demonstration of worship. So, today as we celebrate the Advent of our Lord and Savior, don’t hold back. Worship the One who is worthy of all our praise!

Scripture Reading
[Psalm 96:1-4, 6-13 NKJV] Oh, sing to the LORD a new song! Sing to the LORD, all the earth. Sing to the LORD, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples. For the LORD is great and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods. ... 6 Honor and majesty are before Him; Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary. Give to the LORD, O families of the peoples, Give to the LORD glory and strength.

Give to the LORD the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come into His courts. Oh, worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth. Say among the nations, "The LORD reigns; The world also is firmly established, It shall not be moved; He shall judge the peoples righteously." Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; Let the sea roar, and all its fullness; Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice before the LORD. For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness, And the peoples with His truth.

Candle Lighting
Today, at our last candle lighting, we relight the candles of Hope, Peace, Joy and Love, and now we light the final candle of Adoration. Choose one person to relight the first four candles, and as you light the remaining candle of Adoration let your worship and adoration pour forth. Give thanks and praise to our Savior who gave his life to save us, who walked the Earth to teach us and to make a way for us to experience His Holy Spirit. And who rose again so that we might experience an abundance of life and blessing here on Earth before we one day go home to be with Him again!

Prayer
Lord, we praise Your Holy Name! We give You honor and glory forever. For You are great, and greatly to be praised. You are Lord and we worship You! There is none like You. There is none beside You. We proclaim your goodness and mercy toward Your people. We pour out our adoration for You. It is our privilege and honor to give You praise! Thank you for calling us your own. Thank you for making a way for us to be saved. Thank you for forming us together as your Body. And thank you, always, for using us here to grow Your kingdom for Your Name’s sake. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
